I'm a bit new to this so apologies if I miss anything.

I have an HP Omen 15-ce0xx Laptop, currently dual booted with Windows 10 and Ubuntu 19.04. I currently have 200+ GB to the right of Ubuntu. I don't actually need this much file space for Ubuntu which I use for work. I do require it for Windows which I play games on. The partition order is as follows: Windows | Ubuntu | 200GB Unallocated

Why does my PC do this every time i start It has been like this for a couple days
in flag

So I tried to boot safe mode to see why my computer could not load anything since installing Ubuntu (files, websites etc). My cousin had told me it might be a hard drive problem since my computer took forever to boot up Ubuntu (this is pre safe mode). I don't know how to run a hard drive test, so I looked up how and it brought me to booting into safe mode. Ever since then, I’ve had this problem.

I'm very new to Linux- I have the virtual machine up and running in virtualbox, but I can't find anything specific to getting the gpu's recognized by windows so I can install drivers- can anyone help with this? I could run windows and run ubuntu in a vm but I would strongly prefer the other way, as I have another program I need to run that only runs in Ubuntu (for the unskilled at least :P)

Boot problem: always boot into the grub command line instead of the grub menu
pw flag

Could someone help me with this problem, please?

I have ubuntu + win10 installed, and win10 can be booted just fine. When I choose to boot into ubuntu the loader always goes to the grub command line.

If I then set manually the prefix and the root, I can successfully boot into ubuntu, but I have to do this every time. Updating grub didn't work. Boot repair didn't work as well.

Similar to another question asked here, as I've found, but that has no solution and doesn't sufficient detail the problem.

I connect my Bluetooth headphones and hear a connection sound. "Headphones" is selected as the output source, but the sound still comes through my monitor via HDMI. The solution, however, is simple: I select HDMI output, then re-select Headphones, now it's working as expected ...

Touchpad scrolling jittery after hirsute upgrade
de flag

I'm using a Dell Latitude 7470, and recently upgraded to Hirsute. After the upgrade when I use two-finger scrolling on the touchpad the scrolling is very unstable and "jitters" up and down as if the touchpad is not sure where my fingers are. Also, often when I lift my fingers the page then jumps as if I made a quick up or down "flick" of the fingers.

I haven't found any mention of a similar issue ...

Ubuntu 21.04 stayed at Linux Kernel 5.08

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 21.04 from 20.04 LTS. I did it through the update manager, and everything is working fine, a lot of things and packages were updated, but the Linux kernel stayed at 5.08 instead of 5.11. If I type in the terminal "sudo apt update" it doesn't find any new changes.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
