How can I increase the time the lock screen is visible before the display turns off?

I am curious if it's possible to adjust the time that the lock screen stays up? Specifically this is when,

  1. I intentionally lock the computer with Ctrl + Alt + L
  2. Some time passes, I think about 1 minute currently <-- I want to adjust this
  3. The screen is powered off automatically

I have an encrypted boot volume, followed by LVM root.

Every boot, the other LVM volumes get activated automatically, but I have to enter lvm vgchange -aay for the LVM root to be activated, before boot can continue.

  • The /boot/grub/device.map is stable, no updates by grub-mkdevicemap

SSH and HTTP connections via WiFi fail intermittently

I recently installed Ubuntu 22.04 with OpenSSH server and nginx on a Lenovo ThinkPad. The host is connected to the local network via WiFi. Local connections (via SSH or HTTP) to the host sometimes only work from specific clients, while other clients return an error (time out/no route to host/host is down). The failed connection attempts do not appear in /var/log/auth.log.

Snap store unable to uninstall application

I am having problems with the apple-music-electron package: apple music electron error

The terminal colour changes automatically, but I am not able to use the terminal for executing the commands. I have used pywal and the code used is:

How to install Kubuntu 22.04 LTS from live USB?

I flashed the Kubuntu 22.04 ISO image on to a USB disk and booted my computer. The Kubuntu wallpaper is shown on all screens but nothing else (I assume it's the Kubuntu wallpaper, it looks like a big Firefox logo).

I just purchased a dell xps 13 with ubuntu. The fingerprint sensor worked fine. Then, I created a backup disk using Dell Recovery Tool and reinstalled ubuntu (as I wanted to enable Full Disk Encryption). Now, the following problem appears which I am unable to solve:

  • I register a new fingerprint

Evince table of contents disappears after CTRL + F

When I view a pdf file in document viewer, I use the table of contents a lot. I also like to search terms with CTRL + F, but after I used that shortcut, the table of contents is no longer visible (the top left button also doesn't bring it back) and I have to restart the program for it to work again.

Steam app not launch on X11

I can play games from Steam only in Wayland. However, this displaying does not support screen recorders. Is it any solution to launch Steam in X11 session ?

I tried edit on sudo nano /etc/gdm3/custom.conf / by uncomment # and wayland=true / to working in Wayland under X11, but nothing change.

In brief, Steam not launch in X11 and screen recorders not working with Wayland.

Text Editor's menu not fully visible

On Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS with GNOME 3.36.8 I just noticed that the default (Gnome) text editor gedit 3.36.2 cannot display it's menu when the menu is higher than the window.

I installed vokoscreen-ng from the Ubuntu software store. It does not launch for some reason. When I tried to delete it I got:

Unable to remove vokoscreen-ng: no packages to remove.

After I purged the package using sudo dpkg -P vokoscreen-ng. The software store shows that the package is installed and also can't be removed.
