I have a vm running ubuntu server 18.04.1 LTS. It has been running alfresco for over 5 years. Now it started to shut down by itself. I didn't do any updates, I didn't change anything on the server, it's not even open for external access.

the vm is running on Unraid.

Unable to create SystemD user service "Failed to connect to bus: Permission denied"

Trying to run

systemctl --user start my-service.service

on Ubuntu server 20.04 as a non-root user I get

Failed to connect to bus: Permission denied

Even just

systemctl --user

gives the same error.

The user was created with adduser --disabled-login my-user and is accessed by running su my-user.

Based on what I found researching this issue it seems that some environment variable is not properly  ...

/lib/firmware/ath11k/IPQ6018/hw1.0/m3_fw.mdt does exist

Anyone have a quick fix or some explanation as to why the dpkg-new file does not exist? I'm a slackware guy and out of my element on Ubuntu, particularly as this system resides on vmware in a data center I don't have access to.

I installed Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS onto the laptop using a USB stick. When I use the try Ubuntu option I can see the laptop’s SSD, with all of the Ubuntu files in it. Ubuntu clients can't resolve LAN hosts stored in local unbound server

I have setup an unbound server to use short names to refer to various servers by the hostname only. Example: I can call http://myserver:8080/ And it works as expected from Android, and Windows clients, but on 2 Ubuntu 23.04 clients it doesn't work at all.

Unbound is on host 192.168.1.2, and here's the output of dig from ubuntu querying the unbound server itself:

I have some issues with the button on the keyboard, I have already replaced my keyboard 3 times. I use printf for some text editors temporarily. I need to printf "`" and "%" characters inside the array with colour on aliasses, not working at all.
