Is there a problem with applications under Ubuntu 23.04?

Recently, I set up Ubuntu 23.04 instead of Windows 10, and some applications (Apache Netbeans 17, TMCBeans, VLCmedia "using sudo snap [name]" ) are not opening when I click them. Is this problem with Ubuntu new version or another reason? What can I do ? And If problem will be Ubuntu 23.04 , can I install another ubuntu version via terminal without any data losing? Wifi keeps dropping

I was running a full install of Ubuntu 21 on my dell i9 without issue and now have recently regularly been having wifi drop. I can cycle the connection and it will reset but drop again at irregular intervals soon thereafter. PITA

I bought a PowerColor Bc-2235 video card using a AMD 6700 (non-XT) GPU. The card works just fine with mi HDMI monitor, but I can't make it work with a secundary monitor connected via DisplayPort. How to switch from Ubuntu single-boot to Windows?

I cannot install Windows from a bootable Windows USB that I create on my Ubuntu machine, I've probably used everything that could be used to make this bootable USB boot properly.

What I have tried:

  • Woeusb
  • Ventoy
  • dd command
  • Unebootin
  • Copying ISO file content to the USB.
  • Creating the bootable USB from a Windows machine.

Results are always:

Running App Dot Indicator Showing on Wrong Workspace

I'm using Ubuntu 22.04 with Wayland.

The issue is that if I use "activities view" or "show applications" to move an app to another workspace, then click back to the workspace I was using, the running app dot indicator is still present for favorite apps. This is not an issue for apps that are not in the favorite category.

I was configuring the catfish search folders, excluding the folders in the home, that start with the dot /home/user/.* when I realized that I have to add them one by one, it's a pain.
I want to avoid catfish looking in /home/user/.* , is there a way to specify this path? Also, no configuration files were found.

I've wanted to give my MacBook Air 1,1 a new life with Ubuntu. It seems this computer has a 64-bit CPU, so it should run current versions of Ubuntu.

However, when I try to I install the ISO to the USB stick on MacOS, it's automatically sets to the MBR Partition Scheme, because it runs 32 bit MacOS. I cannot install Balena Etcher, and I don't have another Mac, so I cannot install it over there.

3 days ago I bought a new intel 13700 machine & installed a fresh copy of 23.04. However I find that shutting down takes a really long time (90 sec), while my 6700K machine only takes about 4-5 seconds with 23.04 on it.

How can I execute my custom scripts without typing bash before?

I want to run my custom scripts but every time I need to execute it I have to type bash before the script name. But I want to run it just like we would run other scripts such as ls git sed chmod etc where typing bash prior to the script name is not required.

mic from headset combo still shows plugged in after I unplugged it

The problem with that is it wont accept another mic input from my 3.5mm audio jack. The speakers from same headset works as expected. When plugged in the output is switched to headset automatically and when unplugged the output switch back to laptop speakers. (Ubuntu 20.04)
