Pressing E instantly after pressing M results in € symbol on EU keyboard
sn flag

Whenever I type "me", I actually get "m€" which is kind of annoying and I have to slow down whenever I type the "e" after the "m". Is there a way to disable this? I've never encountered this issue on Windows. I'm using the French AZERTY layout, under Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS.

Bluetooth Profile Switch on Ubuntu
cg flag

I was wondering if anyone know a good way to switch a Bluetooth headset profile directly from the desktop tray ?

I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 and the profiles to switch between are HSP/HFP and A2DP. As of right now, the only method I know of is to open pavucontrol and to manually change the profile there. Yet, I'm looking to do it more easily using desktop tray.

Ubuntu 18.04, I get about a dozen or so of these a day:

I was getting these on the built-in NIC on the motherboard, so I replaced that with a daughter-card NIC, and disabled the onboard NIC, but I am still getting the same problem. I have replaced the network cable, still no joy. R ...

Error when restoring backup folder from Duplicity

I performed a clean install of Ubuntu 20.04 and there are certain directories I want to restore from my Deja Dup backup (only one complete backup performed). I chose to use duplicity, as I want to specify these directories only.

To see the correct paths for the directories I need, I did:

Ubuntu 20.04 - Keyboard not working on Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro

I recently installed Ubuntu 20.04 on a brand new Yoga Slim 7i Pro. Everything seems to work fine, except for the fact that the internal keyboard is usually unresponsive after turning on the computer - only select f-keys work (brightness, airplane mode, microphone on/off). The keyboard works fine in the UEFI and Grub menu; it is only after running Ubuntu that it fails. External keyboards work fine, as do ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
