What is the string for Menu key in X keysyms?
cn flag

I'm trying to simulate Menu key press using xdotool but I'm unable to find the proper string for the key.

There is a list of X keysyms in here but Menu (or Application) key is not in the list. I'm currently using click 3 but there's a slight difference between mouse right click and Menu key.

Want a CLI interface to Transmission: transmission-remote, transmission-cli, transmission-remote-cli?

The Ubuntu 20.04 package transmission-cli says:

This package contains a (deprecated) stand-alone command-line client, transmission-remote to interface with transmission-daemon and tools to create, edit and inspect torrent files.

And indeed, looking at the transmission-cli package, I see it includes a /usr/bin/transmission-remote

On the other hand, the Transmission project github says:

I hope this is the correct use of this forum - I am a long term Lubuntu user, and attempting to move to 20.04.

I am seeking the LTS version of Lubuntu, 20.04.1, with kernel 5.4, which is supported for 5 years.

I recently downloaded the latest Lubuntu Desktop from here: https://lubuntu.me/downloads/ which provides the latest Point Release, which is Lubuntu 20.04.2. It came with kernel 5.8, which is only ...

Updated to 21.04 - Wayland is slow and glitchy, Xorg give black screen
ng flag

I just upgraded to 21.04 and am having issues with the display. If I log in with Wayland (default) the screen goes on and off for about the first 10 minutes then settles down. Once it is settled however, I notice a lot of occasional slowdown. I was using Xorg on 20.10 and everything was generally smooth as butter - however, if I try to start 21.04 with Xorg I get a black screen.

How to apply a color theme universally in Kubuntu 21.04
az flag

In Kubuntu 21.04, how can I apply a color theme so that it affects all (or at least most) components of the desktop?

In the Settings, I went to Appearance -> Colors -> edit theme button -> Common Colors, where I changed the selection background, along with the focus and hover decorations.

This affects most programs, but not the highlights in the panel nor the selection of desktop icons.  ...

I was stupid trying to use pkill with pid. pkill takes the name of the process not pid. kill is the command that takes pid as pointed out in the accepted answer.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
