Recently I have bought a Dell Inspiron 15 3511 laptop with the following specs:

No audio after upgrading to 5.15.0-60-generic kernel on Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS

Audio output shows "Dummy Output" after running normal system updates on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. If I use grub to drop back to the 5.15.0-58 everything works normally. Can anyone tell me why this happening and what I need to do restore audio functionality?

I am running Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS and configured bridges. I am not sure if STP is enabled or disabled by default on netplan created bridges. As per netplan doc [1] its Enabled by default.

Check if network drive is mounted in a timely manner

I have a network drive mounted through cifs with the following configuracion in fstab:

/ip/drive /local_path cifs username=username,password=password,acl,rw 0 0

I need to know as soon as possible if the network drive is offline / not accessible.

I bought Ubuntu Pro for my Ubuntu Desktop 22.10. I first reached out to official Ubuntu sales departement as apparently Ubuntu Pro is not compatible with 22.10. They replied and said this: The machine is compatible. I just cannot provide you with technical support to set it up. I'm sorry!

Alias path not found on Ubuntu

I installed kind from kubeflow kind and save it under my $HOME/kubeflow/kind

To run kind from any path, I create an alias in my ~/.bashrc as following:

CA Issues With getcert certmonger on 22.04

I have a puppet script that issues 802.1x certificates for networking, this process works fine on previous versions of Ubuntu LTS. However when the same process runs on 22.04, it reports an issue verifying the signature on the server to do with the CA.

Usually, the root and ca certs are added with getcert add-scep-ca, I then run getcert list-cas which shows the ca are present.

Why is the zfs-dracut package kept back?

I have recently upgraded from ubuntu 18.04 to 22.04, which also upgraded my zfs versions ... except for this one package, zfs-dracut. It "has been kept back".

Why can my system not find the /cow file mounted on root?

I am running Lubuntu on a Windows system. It was set up using Oracle's Virtual Box. After two or three quite small installations, I was getting Write errors claiming the disk was full but since I have allocated 100GB to the VM I knew something fishy was going on.
