I recently installed Ubuntu on a laptop with 256 GB SSD. I chose the recommended layout (use entire disk) and selected LUKS, but although the installer created a sufficiently large partition –

How to paste a password in Remmina when connecting to a remote xrdp server

I'm stuck when it comes to paste my password when connecting to a remote machine with RDP (xrdp server) using Remmina:

I'm not able to paste my password in the field.

What I've tried (none of these is working):

  • Ctrl+V
  • Ctrl+Shift+V
  • Mouse right click (no contextual menu is showing)
  • Mouse middle click

Manually typing it is not an option as it's a very long random string.

Ubuntu 22.04 server installer does not create btrfs subvolumes?

I installed Ubuntu 22.04 LTS server today and selected BTRFS as for the / partition. Here is the scheme I selected in the custom installation:

/boot     2G ext4
/boot/efi 1G fat32
SWAP      4G
/         469.9G btrfs

From searching around, I saw that ubuntu used to create two separate subvolumes under @ and @home, but I don't see them when I check:

# lsblk

Windows system restore with XUbuntu dual boot

If I were to do a Windows system restore (The one where you go System > Restore) with XUbuntu dual booted what would happen? Would it erase the XUbuntu partition on my disk and use it for Windows? Would it just affect my Windows partition? Would it kill my PC entirely? I was wondering and i was also pretty scared so here I am asking.

Installed php instead of php-fpm on Ubuntu 22.04

Constant need to restart internet connection

I have to constantly restart NetworkManager (or run sudo modprobe -r iwlwifi && sudo modprobe iwlwifi - effects are indistinguishable) on both of my Ubuntu devices to deal with constant sudden losses of access to the internet when I'm connected to my home network. Then the usb disconnects automatically. Mount or lsusb doesn't make it appear and i have to unplug and plug it again.
