So the problem is, i accidentally delete the username and password via /etc/passwd. I have 2 user, my main User Account is that i deleted. And the second user i forgot my pass. Any solution?

Some websites cannot be reached

I am using Firefox and Ubuntu 20.04 (recently updated to 22.04). In both versions, some websites cannot be reached through Firefox.

What I have tried:

  • changing resolv.conf, adding nameserver 8.8.8.8, nameserver 8.8.4.4
  • trying with chrome (same error)
  • clearing every sort of temporary file in Firefox
  • disabling every proxy in Firefox

I still can't access e.g. scribd.com. My machine is in dual boot W ...

Calibrate a display without a colorimeter

I have an old laptop with a display with bad color reproduction. I want to try to create a specific color profile for this display. But I don't have any color calibration devices, and want to do it by eye. But I can't find any software that can do it. I want to correct a color profile (e.g. color balance, gamma) and see my changes in online mode.

Is it possible?

Ubuntu hotspot won't connect

I tried to change Ubuntu 18.04 hotspot password using nm-connection-editor command, after turning on the hotspot it showed that the password changed but when i tried to connect my phone it won't connect saying "couldn't connect,try again" ... I used this solution but it didn't work neither.

Alot of UI problems after upgrading to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

I have upgraded Ubuntu to 22.04 LTS, running as Virtualbox guest. The UI suffers by many response problems, mouse is moving the cursor but clicks are detected only on the left taskbar, also some applications don't seem to start.

Is there a way to fix things or at least roll back to last working version?

Ayatana keyboard indicator blends into background

After upgrading Ubuntu MATE 20.04 to 22.04, it seems the new standard way of getting indicator icons in the panel is via the Ayatana indicator system. I've added the keyboard layout indicator by installing ayatana-indicator-keyboard, and turned it on in the indicator control center. The only setting on the "Keyboard" tab is to turn it on or off, notably, nothing about its appearance.

Recently I upgraded my Ubuntu server to 22.04, but in apt I get error:

But we want to secure credentials from fstab and it should still be mounted on the host always and also get auto-mounted whenever we reboot the host. This flow works fine if I enter password in a plain text file or credentials directly in fstab file.
