My laptop used to dual boot normally, but after I updated windows 11 yesterday, the laptop does not allow me to select the OS to run. It starts straight to windows 11. I tried this but couldn't solve the problem. What can I do?

18.04 -> 22.04 upgrade

I did an upgrade of 18.04LTS -> 22.04LTS using the software updater. After rebooting the system does not boot proper. Below the output (manual re-entered from the other machine, so maybe a type)

I have Ubuntu 20.04 and I'm trying to install ros2. So, I followed the steps for installation ,but when I type the command "sudo apt upgrade -y" I get this message:see photo

I don't want to upgrade to another version of ubuntu ,I want ubuntu 20.04. I don't know if ros2 is compatible with ubuntu pro. What should I do?

The vnstat hour graph is not aligned properly in conky

I am currently using ubuntu budgie 20.10. I have been trying to make a conky script to display the hourly data usage stats and usage graph by using vnstat -i wlp5s0 -hg. But the graph and the text are not aligned as the should be. I have done this before but I formatted by laptop and didn't backup the conky script. Can anyone help me with this?

super-strange case - external 4k monitor

I have a super-cheap gitabyte brix device for watching youtube. It is connected to 4k display through hdmi cable, but since it is a super cheap device it only supports 1920x1080 resolution and that's fine - i can live with it.

Background noise on headphones after updating to Ubuntu 22.04.1

After updating my system from 20.04 to 22.04.1 background white noise is present when I use my headphones. I'm using Lenovo Ideapad 700, it is an older laptop, but everything worked for years, first on 18, and then on Ubuntu 20.

This only happens when using 3.5mm jack headphones, audio on laptop speakers works fine, also bluetooth headphones work fine.

Ubuntu 20.04 doesn't have any easy way to install drivers for it (someone suggest use old kernels... horrible...). Once long ago I've done it, but completely forgot how.

how to monitor if a file size not change do something in ubuntu

the goal is that if my file.log size does not change in 10 minutes then send two HTTP requests to some servers. something like this:

check file.log 
if not change in 10 min
send HTTP request to http://my_url:8008 with username:admin and password:admin

A person I know had their legacy boot computer set for an Ubuntu and Windows 7 dual boot. He asked me to update the Windows 7 side to Windows 10, so I did an in place update and immediately regretted it. I had backed up the Windows 7 data but not the Ubuntu side. I thought at fist that Windows had just erased the grub bootloader, but I have a feeling that it actually deleted the Ubuntu partitions.
