RDP access to ubuntu 22 04 server from Windows 10 64 bit goes to black screen

We have 2 servers with Ubuntu 22 04. In the first if we access from Windows 10 64 bit we have no problems, In the second till 3 weeks ago all was Ok, but in the last 2 weeks we receive a black screen. I have tried to reinstall remmina, all rdp apps and gnome-remote-desktop from Synaptic with no results. We have tried other RDP clients non Microsoft but we receive the same result. What we have to do?

Mounting Android Phone on Ubuntu/Server/Raspberry Pi not working even after installing gmtp and mtp-tools

After mounting an Android Phone as a USB / MTP device successfully on my desktop Ubuntu (22.04.1 LTS), I switched to a Raspberry Pi 4 w/a fresh download of the Ubuntu/Server/Raspberry Pi image (Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS). I connected the Android Phone and did not see any of the directories / files I saw when the phone was connected to my Ubuntu desktop.

The problem is when I check the space left on the device at Files application shows 0 bytes although the Disks application shows 24GB.

Also when I try to transfer something via Filezilla FTP application I get an error message as "error while writing local file" sounds as no space left on device.

Enable Bluetooth Keyboard before LUKS decryption - Ubuntu 20.04

I need to have my Keychron K8 Bluetooth keyboard working to write my boot-time LUKS disk decryption password.

At the moment, I can only use the laptop keyboard as the Bluetooth stack is not enabled yet.

I found (but not tried yet) the way to enable the module at initramfs time but I'm not sure how it is related to the Systemd Bluetooth Service.

Has anyone with the same issue got a solution?

How to safely delete core dump info?

I am on Ubuntu server 20.04 and I have atop installed. Within my understanding, atop will keep record of certain information when an application core dumps.

I am running low on disk space and this directly seems to be holding multiple gigs of data, as can be seen below:

Touchpad not working on Lenovo ThinkPad E14 with Ubuntu 22.04.1

I recently upgrade a Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 laptop to Ubuntu 22.04.1 from 20.04. And the touchpad mouse has stopped responding altogether. (It was working before.)

Things I tried:

  1. I ran sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade. Nothing changed after successful upgrade.
  2. Checked Lenovo's BIOS menu to see it touchpad is enabled. It was enabled.

Please let me know what can be done to fix this?

Ubuntu 18.04 gets stuck on purple screen after entering password on log-in screen

The screen goes to purple with absolutely nothing (no mouse pointer), and sticks there for hours. I restarted my Dell Inspiron 7570 (Dual Boot) after a long time, so I suspect some update might have caused this. Also it was a forced restart, since the PC had hanged.

I have software RAID1 with SDA + SDB (3TB). I make them via this commnad:

sudo mdadm --create --verbose /dev/md0 --level=1 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sda /dev/sdb

and this mirror RAID working nice.

Now I have plans to make another mirror RAID (6TB), eg. like this:

I've set the number of mounts after which the filesystem will be checked for errors:

sudo tune2fs -c 1 /dev/nvme0n1p2

Change GUI resolution for Ubuntu on WSL2 on Windows 11

The GUI support for Ubuntu on Windows is absolutely fantastic! The resolution of the GUI windows is one area, though, where I do have some issues. For instance, when I launch Octave, all the icons and labels look a little bit too small in my opinion. I've included a screenshot.

Can WSL2 use the Android SDK installed on Windows?

I have the android-sdk installed on Windows, and I have exported its path to the ANDROID_SDK_ROOT WSL environment variable. Should WSL be able to compile my projects using the SDK that's installed on Windows? It says my SDK is corrupted when I try to build my Cordova project. Could this be the cause? I've uninstalled/reinstalled the same version of the SDK and a few other, but the problem remains.

The OS is running smooth but when I try to install the gzdoom.deb from the gzdoom page via installer, I get an error "the following packages have unmet dependencies".
